Alternative Gift Fair huge success!

MAUs of northern Michigan, be proud of your community! In the true spirit of giving, of celebrating what truly matters, of lifting up those who need it most, the folks of the greater Harbor Springs/Petoskey area came together on Saturday, December 1 to shop the second annual Mothers Acting Up Alternative Gift Fair-- and shop they did! Our goal-- to double the number of shoppers and dollars raised-- was not only met, but far exceeded. We were able to put some $44,000 in the hands of important local and international non-profit organizations thanks to the generosity of all who attended. This event was both an example of the changing tide against the commercialized holiday season, and also, a return to community; a desire for folks to gather with friends and neighbors to celebrate the blessings in our lives, and to stand collectively to support those in need.
